A beautiful Gesneriad, a Gloxinia relative, seldom offered – coming into growth in late spring from small scaly rhizomes and producing clusters lovely pink tubular flowers speckled with maroon. The plant grows to around 30cms tall and requires regular water when in growth and a dry period during the winter when the rhizomes are dormant – Pot the rhizomes up at this time of the year and keep dry until spring
