ORNITHOGALUM BRACTEATA

An interesting bulbous plant native to South Africa. The bulb grows above ground and will reach up to 10cms plus in diameter. The strap-like leaves are semi-succulent and in spring produces stems to around 1 metre long with cream and green flowers, in a conical head. It is an easy plant to grow in a sunny well drained situation, the flowers are long lasting in the garden or picked for a vase.
